Uptown Roadway Improvements Project

As part of the Sedona in Motion (SIM) program, the city of Sedona and its contractor, Eagle Mountain Construction, are set to begin a roadway improvements project in Uptown Sedona. The Uptown improvements are the first in a series of city-wide projects identified in a Transportation Master Plan developed over the course of two years of study, planning, public meetings, and discussion. The project includes a combination of street, hardscape, and landscape improvements.

Project Improvements include:

  • An additional southbound lane along 89A within the project limits

  • A new connector road between 89A and free parking along Schnebly Road

  • Two roundabouts, one at Jordan Road and one at the new Schnebly Road connector

  • Landscaped, decorative median along 89A through Uptown

  • Decorative median and extended sidewalk on the north side of Forest Road, between 89A and Van Deren Road

Road construction is scheduled to begin the week of June 3, 2019 with an anticipated completion in spring 2020. Once finished, the project will improve traffic flow and safety, decrease delays, and create more opportunities for pedestrian access to Uptown businesses.
